Terms of Service
Effective 16 August 2026 · Last updated 16 August 2026
These Terms govern the NadBooks website, Android application, reading, publishing, community, payment and account services.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing NadBooks, creating an account, purchasing a book, subscribing to Premium, publishing content or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and the policies linked from them. If you do not agree, do not use NadBooks.
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are below the age at which you may independently enter a binding agreement where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use. Mature-rated content is intended only for users legally permitted to view it.
2. Accounts and Google sign-in
NadBooks currently uses Google authentication. You must provide accurate information, keep access to your Google account secure and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorised access. A username may be generated from your Google email address and can later be updated, subject to availability and platform rules.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account. You may not impersonate another person, sell or transfer an account, evade a restriction, or use automated means to create accounts or manipulate activity.
3. The NadBooks service
NadBooks provides discovery, reading, purchases, libraries, wishlists, bookmarks, reading progress, offline reading, community discussions, direct messages, writer profiles, publishing tools, notifications, referrals, Premium features and related services. Features may change as the platform develops.
We may maintain, improve, suspend or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or operation of the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage of drafts or compatibility with every device.
4. Books, purchases and reader licence
The first chapter of a paid book is free by default, and a writer may make additional chapters free. A completed payment unlocks the paid chapters for the purchasing account, subject to these Terms.
Buying or downloading a book gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to read it through supported NadBooks features. It does not transfer copyright. You may not copy, scrape, resell, redistribute, upload elsewhere, remove rights information from, or bypass access controls protecting a book.
Offline copies are for personal reading inside the supported app. Standard and Premium download limits may differ and are displayed in the product. Offline availability may end when access expires, a lawful takedown occurs or the service changes.
5. Publishing and writer responsibilities
Writers retain ownership of their books and other original content. By uploading a manuscript, cover or book information, you grant NadBooks a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, reproduce, format, display, distribute, promote and sell that material through NadBooks for as long as it remains on the service and for a reasonable technical wind-down period afterward.
You must own or control every right necessary to publish the work, including rights in the manuscript, cover, images and metadata. You must not submit plagiarised, unlawful, defamatory, deceptive or infringing material, malicious files, or content that exploits children. You are responsible for age and mature-content labels.
Books may be reviewed for ownership, quality, safety, legality, formatting and policy compliance. NadBooks may approve, reject, request changes, unpublish or remove a book. A writer may delete an eligible book, but deletion may be restricted where readers have purchased it or where retention is required to preserve purchases, resolve disputes or comply with law.
The Author Publishing Agreement is incorporated into these Terms and applies in addition to this section.
6. Book-sale revenue and withdrawals
For each confirmed book sale, NadBooks credits 85% of the book purchase price to the writer’s wallet and retains 15% as the NadBooks platform share. For example, a confirmed ₦1,000 sale credits ₦850 to the writer and ₦150 to NadBooks.
Earnings may be reversed or adjusted for refunds, chargebacks, duplicate or fraudulent transactions, payment reversals, taxes required by law, or calculation errors. NadBooks may withhold disputed or suspicious funds while they are investigated.
The current minimum withdrawal is ₦5,000. Writers must provide accurate payout information and may be asked for identity, ownership or banking verification. Withdrawal requests are reviewed and may be rejected or returned where details are incorrect, funds are unavailable, fraud is suspected or payment would violate law.
7. Payments, refunds and Premium
Prices are displayed in Nigerian naira unless stated otherwise. Paystack processes book and Premium payments. NadBooks does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.
A purchase or subscription is active only after payment is confirmed. Premium benefits, price and duration are shown at checkout and may include enhanced reading, download, discovery or reward features. Complimentary Premium may be granted or withdrawn by NadBooks and has no cash value.
You may cancel Premium through available account controls. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless stated otherwise. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where NadBooks approves a refund or applicable consumer law requires one. Refunds may remove the related book, Premium benefit, earnings or reward credit.
8. NadPoints and referrals
Referral and NadPoints programmes are promotional features. Points are not money, cannot be sold or transferred and have value only when redeemed through options currently offered by NadBooks. Eligibility, award amounts, redemption thresholds and benefits may change prospectively.
Self-referrals, duplicate or fake accounts, automated activity and misleading promotions are prohibited. NadBooks may withhold or reverse rewards resulting from abuse, error, cancellation or fraud.
9. Community content and direct messages
You remain responsible for posts, comments, images, profile information and messages you submit. You grant NadBooks a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, format and display public content as needed to operate and promote the community. Private messages are processed to deliver and protect the messaging service and are not public content.
Do not harass, threaten, defraud, impersonate, expose private information, promote hatred or violence, sexually exploit anyone, spam, manipulate engagement, or post unlawful or infringing material. Community posts and comments may contain only links allowed by the product, including valid NadBooks book links where required.
NadBooks may investigate reports and may edit visibility, remove content, delete posts or comments, restrict messaging, ban accounts or preserve evidence. Administrators and moderators receive only the powers assigned to their roles.
10. Prohibited conduct
You must not misuse NadBooks or interfere with other users or the service.
- Do not probe, attack, overload, reverse engineer or bypass authentication, payment, moderation, download or chapter-access controls.
- Do not introduce malware, harvest data, scrape books, misuse APIs or access another person’s account or private content.
- Do not manipulate views, sales, likes, referrals, reviews, rankings or analytics.
- Do not use NadBooks to violate intellectual-property, privacy, consumer-protection or other applicable laws.
11. Moderation, suspension and termination
We may warn, limit, suspend or terminate an account; reject or remove a book; remove community content; or hold funds where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, investigate abuse, respond to legal process or secure the platform. Serious or urgent risks may require action without advance notice.
You may request account deletion in Settings. The account is restricted immediately and scheduled for permanent deletion after 90 days, subject to recovery support, unresolved transactions, fraud prevention, legal obligations and records that must be retained or anonymised.
12. Intellectual property and complaints
The NadBooks name, software, interface, brand assets and platform content other than user-owned content belong to NadBooks or its licensors. No right is granted except the limited right to use the service under these Terms.
Copyright or other rights complaints should be sent to support@nadbooks.com with identification of the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact details, your authority to act and a good-faith statement. We may restrict material while reviewing a notice and any response.
13. Disclaimers and liability
NadBooks is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that every book or user statement is accurate, lawful or suitable, or that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, NadBooks is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss caused by another user, or loss resulting from unauthorised access outside our reasonable control. Our aggregate liability relating to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid NadBooks for that service during the preceding 12 months, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
14. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect new features, legal requirements or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another reasonable channel and will apply prospectively from the stated effective date. Continued use after that date means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The parties should first attempt to resolve a dispute in good faith through support@nadbooks.com. Subject to applicable consumer rights, unresolved disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@nadbooks.com or hello@nadbooks.com.
